Kids’ Speech Therapy in Wanneroo
Speech Clinic supports children across their childhood and teenage years who live in the Wanneroo area. We advocate for early intervention. It’s critically important to recognise signs of potential speech, language, literacy or social difficulties, as this helps us to minimise future impacts on academic success and a child’s social life.
They’ll grow out of it, right?
We’re always asked, “when is the best age to start speech therapy?”. Earliest is always best. Speech Therapists can provide treatment and complete assessments to kids from 16 months to 18 years old. There is strong evidence supporting early intervention. When a speech therapist can support a child from birth until 4-5 years old, they can reduce the long-term impacts of a communication or language disorder. This provides children with the best chance to be school-ready. Sometimes speech, language, literacy, fluency and social interaction difficulties can become apparent throughout a child’s schooling years. We also love to support school-aged children and adolescents to reach their full academic and social potential.
