Kids’ Speech Therapy in Prospect
Speech Clinic Prospect supports children across their childhood and teenage years who live in the Prospect area. We are strong advocates for early intervention. Recognising signs of potential speech, language, social, or literacy difficulties is important, as this helps us to minimise future impacts on social and academic success.
They’ll grow out of it, right?
We are often asked, “when is the best age to start speech therapy?”. Earliest is always best. Speech and Language Therapists can provide therapy and complete speech pathology assessments to children from 16 months to 18 years old. There is strong evidence supporting early intervention. When a speech therapist can support a child from birth until 4-5 years old, they can reduce the long-term impacts of a communication or language disorder. This provides children with the best chance to be school-ready. Sometimes speech, language, literacy, fluency and social interaction difficulties can become apparent throughout a child’s schooling years. We also love supporting school-aged kids to reach their academic and social potential.
