Kids’ Speech Therapy in Kingborough
Speech Clinic Kingborough supports children with speech therapy across their childhood and teenage years who live in the Kingborough area. We advocate for early intervention. It’s critically important to recognise signs of potential speech, language, literacy or social difficulties, as this helps us to reduce future impacts on academic success and a child’s social life.
Should we wait and see?
We are often asked, “when is the best age to start speech therapy?”. Early is always best. Speech Pathologists can complete assessments and provide treatment to kids from 16 months to 18 years old. There is strong evidence supporting early intervention. When a speech therapist can support a child from birth until 4-5 years old, they can reduce the long-term impacts of a communication or language disorder. This gives our children the best chance to be ready for school. Sometimes speech, literacy, fluency, language and social interaction difficulties can become noticeable throughout a child’s schooling years. We also love supporting school-aged children and adolescents to reach their full academic and social potential.
