Before working as a speech therapist, I worked as a medical researcher. I worked at the Queensland Brain Institute and Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology. I am currently undertaking a PhD project at The University of Queensland (UQ). This PhD project examines current clinical practices for children with traumatic brain injuries.
As a paediatric clinician, I work exclusively with children. I have experience working with infants through to late-stage teens in a wide-variety of areas – speech clarity, social communication, complex communication and disability, reading and writing, stuttering and language impairments.

Kids’ Speech Therapy in Joondalup
Speech Clinic supports children across their childhood and teenage years who live in the Joondalup area. We strongly advocate for early intervention. It’s critically important to recognise signs of potential speech, language, literacy or social difficulties, as this helps us to reduce future impacts on academic success and a child’s social life.
Should you wait and see?
We are often asked, “when is the best age to start speech therapy?”. Earliest is always best. Speech Pathologists can provide treatment and complete assessments to children from 16 months to 18 years old. There is strong evidence supporting early intervention. When a speech therapist can support a child from birth until 4-5 years old, they can reduce the long-term impacts of a communication or language disorder. This provides children with the best chance to be school-ready. Sometimes speech, language, literacy, fluency and social interaction difficulties can become apparent throughout a child’s schooling years. We also love to support school-aged children to reach their academic and social potential.
