Welcome, we are Speech Clinic East Gippsland. We are an exclusively Paediatric Speech Pathologist that provides services in the East Gippsland area. We help kids with their speech, fluency, language, literacy and social interaction. We provide Telehealth therapy speech pathology appointments – This means kids can experience speech therapy in their most comfortable location, their own home.

Our Clinician and Founder, Lauren, is a PhD Candidate and Research assistant at UQ.

Prior to working as a speech pathologist, I worked in the medical research field. I worked at the Queensland Brain Institute and Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology. I am currently undertaking a PhD project at The University of Queensland (UQ). This PhD project examines current clinical practices for children with traumatic brain injuries.

As a paediatric speech pathologist, I work with children exclusively. I have experience working with young toddlers through to late-stage teens in a wide-variety of areas including – speech clarity, social communication, complex communication and disability, reading and writing, stuttering and language impairments.

Kids’ Speech Therapy in East Gippsland

Speech Clinic supports children across their childhood and teenage years who live in the East Gippsland location. We advocate for early intervention. It’s critically important to recognise signs of potential speech, language, literacy or social difficulties, as this helps us to minimise future impacts on social and academic success.

Should we wait and see?
We are often asked, “when is the best age to start speech therapy?”. Straight away is always best. Speech and Language Therapists can provide treatment and complete assessments to kids from 16 months to 18 years old. There is strong evidence supporting early intervention. When a speech therapist can support a child from birth until 4-5 years old, they can reduce the long-term impacts of a communication or language disorder. This provides children with the best chance to be school-ready. Sometimes speech, language, literacy, fluency and social interaction difficulties can become apparent throughout a child’s schooling years. We also love supporting school-aged kids to reach their full academic and social potential.
