Kids’ Speech Therapy in Springvale South
Speech Clinic supports children with speech therapy across their childhood and teenage years who live in the Springvale South area. We are strong advocates for early intervention. It’s critically important to recognise signs of potential speech, language, literacy or social difficulties, as this helps us to minimise future impacts on academic success and a child’s social life.
They’ll grow out of it, right?
We are often asked, “when is the best age to start speech therapy?”. Early is always best. Speech and Language Pathologists can provide therapy and complete speech pathology assessments to children from 16 months to 18 years old. There is strong evidence supporting early intervention. When a speech therapist can support a child from birth until 4-5 years old, they can reduce the long-term impacts of a communication or language disorder. This provides children with the best chance to be school-ready. Sometimes speech, language, literacy, fluency and social interaction difficulties can become apparent throughout a child’s schooling years. We love to support school-aged children to reach their full academic and social potential.
