Hello, we are Speech Clinic Kogarah. We are an exclusively Paediatric Speech Pathologist that provides services in the Kogarah area. We provide Telehealth therapy speech pathology appointments – This means kids can experience speech therapy in their most comfortable location, their home.

Before working as a speech therapist, I worked in the medical research field. I worked at the Queensland Brain Institute and Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology. I am currently undertaking a PhD project at The University of Queensland (UQ). This PhD project examines current clinical practices for children with traumatic brain injuries.

As a paediatric clinician, I work exclusively with children. I have experience working with young toddlers through to late-stage teens in a variety of areas including – speech clarity, complex communication and disability, reading and writing, stuttering, language impairments and social communication.

Kids’ Speech Therapy in Kogarah

Speech Clinic provides speech therapy across their childhood and teenage years who live in the Kogarah location. We advocate for early intervention. Recognising signs of potential speech, language, social, or literacy difficulties is important, as this helps us to minimise future impacts on academic success and a child’s social life.

We’re always asked, “when is the best age to start speech therapy?”. As soon as possible is always best. Speech and Language Therapists can provide treatment and complete assessments to kids from 16 months to 18 years old. There is strong evidence supporting early intervention. When a speech therapist can support a child from birth until 4-5 years old, they can reduce the long-term impacts of a communication or language disorder. This gives kids their best chance to be ready for school. Sometimes speech, literacy, fluency, language and social interaction difficulties can become noticeable throughout a child’s schooling years. We love to support school-aged kids to reach their academic and social potential.
