Recognising signs of potential speech, language, social, or literacy difficulties is important, as this helps us to reduce future impacts on academic success and a child’s social life.

We are often asked, “when is the best age to start speech therapy?”. Early is always best. Speech Therapists can provide treatment and complete assessments to kids from 16 months to 18 years old. There is strong evidence supporting early intervention. When a speech therapist can support a child from birth until 4-5 years old, they can reduce the long-term impacts of a communication or language disorder. This provides children with the best chance to be school-ready. Sometimes speech, language, literacy, fluency and social interaction difficulties can become apparent throughout a child’s schooling years. We also love supporting school-aged children and adolescents to reach their academic and social potential.
