Speech Clinic supports children with speech therapy across their childhood and teenage years who live in the Robina area. We strongly advocate for early intervention. It’s critically important to recognise signs of potential speech, language, literacy or social difficulties, as this helps us to reduce future impacts on academic success and a child’s social life.

Should we wait and see?
We’re always asked, “when is the best age to start speech therapy?”. Earliest is always best. Speech and Language Therapists can provide treatment and complete assessments to kids from 16 months to 18 years old. There is strong evidence supporting early intervention. When a speech therapist can support a child from birth until 4-5 years old, they can reduce the long-term impacts of a communication or language disorder. This gives kids their best chance to be ready for school. Sometimes speech, literacy, fluency, language and social interaction difficulties can become noticeable throughout a child’s schooling years. We also love to support school-aged kids to reach their full academic and social potential.
