Speech Clinic provides speech therapy across their childhood and teenage years who live in the Woollahra location. We strongly advocate for early intervention. Recognising signs of potential speech, language, social, or literacy difficulties is important, as this helps us to reduce future impacts on academic success and a child’s social life.

We are often asked, “when is the best age to start speech therapy?”. Straight away is always best. Speech Therapists can provide treatment and complete assessments to kids from 16 months to 18 years old. There is strong evidence supporting early intervention. When a speech therapist can support a child from birth until 4-5 years old, they can reduce the long-term impacts of a communication or language disorder. This gives kids their best chance to be ready for school. Sometimes speech, language, literacy, fluency and social interaction difficulties can become noticeable throughout a child’s schooling years. We also love supporting school-aged kids to reach their full academic and social potential.
