Speech Clinic Mid-Western Regional provides speech therapy across their childhood and teenage years who live in the Mid-Western Regional area. We are strong advocates for early intervention. It’s critically important to recognise signs of potential speech, language, literacy or social difficulties, as this helps us to minimise future impacts on social and academic success.

We are often asked, “when is the best age to start speech therapy?”. Straight away is always best. Speech Therapists can provide treatment and complete assessments to kids from 16 months to 18 years old. There is strong evidence supporting early intervention. When a speech therapist can support a child from birth until 4-5 years old, they can reduce the long-term impacts of a communication or language disorder. This gives our children the best chance to be ready for school. Sometimes speech, literacy, fluency, language and social interaction difficulties can become apparent throughout a child’s schooling years. We also love supporting school-aged kids to reach their full academic and social potential.
