Hello, we are Speech Clinic Adelaide. We are an exclusively Paediatric Speech Pathologist that provides services in the Adelaide area. We support 0-18yo children with their speech, language, social interaction, fluency and literacy. We provide telehealth appointments online – This means kids can experience speech pathology in their most natural environment, their own home.

Our Clinician and Founder, Lauren, is a PhD Candidate and Research assistant at UQ.

Before working as a speech therapist, I worked as a medical researcher. I worked at the Queensland Brain Institute and Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology. I am currently undertaking a PhD project at The University of Queensland (UQ). This PhD project examines current clinical practices for children with traumatic brain injuries.

As a paediatric clinician, I work exclusively with children. I have experience working with infants through to late-stage teens in a range of areas including – speech clarity, language impairments, complex communication and disability, reading and writing, stuttering and social communication.

Kids’ Speech Therapy in Adelaide

Speech Clinic provides speech therapy across their childhood and teenage years who live in the Adelaide location. We advocate for early intervention. Recognising signs of potential speech, language, social, or literacy difficulties is important, as this helps us to minimise future impacts on social and academic success.

Should we wait and see?
We’re always asked, “when is the best age to start speech therapy?”. Early is always best. Speech Therapists can complete assessments and provide treatment to children from 16 months to 18 years old. There is strong evidence supporting early intervention. When a speech therapist can support a child from birth until 4-5 years old, they can reduce the long-term impacts of a communication or language disorder. This provides children with the best chance to be school-ready. Sometimes speech, literacy, fluency, language and social interaction difficulties can become noticeable throughout a child’s schooling years. We love to support school-aged children to reach their academic and social potential.
