Kids’ Speech Therapy in Penrith
Speech Clinic supports children with speech therapy across their childhood and teenage years who live in the Penrith area. We strongly advocate for early intervention. Recognising signs of potential speech, language, social, or literacy difficulties is important, as this helps us to minimise future impacts on academic success and a child’s social life.
They’ll grow out of it, right?
Frequently, we’re asked, “when is the best age to start speech therapy?”. Earliest is always best. Speech and Language Therapists can provide treatment and complete assessments to children from 16 months to 18 years old. There is strong evidence supporting early intervention. When a speech therapist can support a child from birth until 4-5 years old, they can reduce the long-term impacts of a communication or language disorder. This gives our children the best chance to be ready for school. Sometimes speech, literacy, fluency, language and social interaction difficulties can become noticeable throughout a child’s schooling years. We also love to support school-aged children and adolescents to reach their full academic and social potential.
