Kids’ Speech Therapy in Mornington Peninsula
Speech Clinic Mornington Peninsula supports children with speech therapy across their childhood and teenage years who live in the Mornington Peninsula location. We strongly advocate for early intervention. It’s critically important to recognise signs of potential speech, language, literacy or social difficulties, as this helps us to reduce future impacts on academic success and a child’s social life.
Should you wait and see?
We are often asked, “when is the best age to start speech therapy?”. Early is always best. Speech and Language Pathologists can provide therapy and complete speech pathology assessments to kids from 16 months to 18 years old. There is strong evidence supporting early intervention. When a speech therapist can support a child from birth until 4-5 years old, they can reduce the long-term impacts of a communication or language disorder. This gives kids their best chance to be ready for school. Sometimes speech, literacy, fluency, language and social interaction difficulties can become apparent throughout a child’s schooling years. We love to support school-aged children to reach their academic and social potential.
