Welcome, we are Speech Clinic Yarra. We're a Kids' Speech Pathologist that provides services in the Yarra area. We support kids with their speech, language, social interaction, fluency and literacy. We provide online speech therapy appointments – This means kids can experience speech therapy in their most natural environment, their own home.

Lauren, our Founder, is a PhD Candidate, Research Assistant and Casual Academic at UQ University.

Before working as a speech therapist, I worked as a biomedical researcher. I worked at the Queensland Brain Institute and Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology. I am currently undertaking a PhD project at The University of Queensland (UQ). This PhD project examines current clinical practices for children with traumatic brain injuries.

As a paediatric speech pathologist, I work with children exclusively. I have experience working with infants through to late-stage teens in a range of areas – speech clarity, complex communication and disability, reading and writing, stuttering, language impairments and social communication.

Kids’ Speech Therapy in Yarra

Speech Clinic Yarra supports children across their childhood and teenage years who live in the Yarra area. We advocate for early intervention. We are often asked, “when is the best age to start speech therapy?”. Early is always best. Speech Pathologists can provide therapy and complete speech pathology assessments to children from 16 months to 18 years old. There is strong evidence supporting early intervention. When a speech therapist can support a child from birth until 4-5 years old, they can reduce the long-term impacts of a communication or language disorder. This gives our children the best chance to be ready for school. Sometimes speech, language, literacy, fluency and social interaction difficulties can become noticeable throughout a child’s schooling years. We also love supporting school-aged children to reach their academic and social potential.
